ROOTS to SHOOTS performs music stretching from straight-ahead jazz to gospel, the blues, rhythm and blues, and jazz-infused sounds of the Middle East, Brazil and Spain. The second set will feature a ground-breaking world premiere entitled Quantum Butterfly/Adjacent Possibles in collaboration with electronic composer James Dashow. In this immersive electroacoustic composition, the musicians wander around the space improvising off of electronic sounds enveloping the audience emanating from six speakers placed on the periphery of The Speakeasy.
