This past year has been quite an experience for many of us. It’s been a year filled with fear, uncertainty, and grief, amongst many other emotions.
After 2 years of being apart, a handful of dancers from the Bridge Street Belly Dance line up came together this June to share their story of the last year and how it impacted them as artists, dancers, and humans.
In addition to dancers bringing solo pieces, the group collaborated on a piece that celebrates the joy of human connection, closeness, and the power of deeply seeing each other.
This film, created in collaboration with JD Urban, gives you an intimate look into the lives of Bridge Street Belly Dance artists and their experience during the pandemic. The film showcases all of the live performances from this year’s sold-out Bridge Street Belly Dance show, in addition to featuring a special appearance and collaboration with Mira Betz.
